Instructions for bonding a canopy to an RV-8 frame, by George Balmer

Hello list.
I have had many good experiences with the aircraft vendors over the past several years on my project. (Vans, Avery, Proprietary Software AOA) I would like to add one more to the list of outstanding vendors. I recently purchased a canopy from Todd and was very impressed with his way of doing business. He is quick to respond to e-mails, quick to make your order, and quick to ship it as well. He even offered to deliver my canopy to Sun N Fun in order to save me some freight. (This was vetoed by my bride since she didn't want to share our van with a coffin-shaped box for seven hours.) When the crate arrived, I was impressed with Todd's efficient method of packing the canopy, as well. He has even trimmed the canopy down to get rid of the molding flange.
One of the nicest things that I have enjoyed about my project has been the quality of the vendors out there. It seems like everyone has a genuine interest in what they are doing which I find refreshing.

RV-8 Fuselage almost done, finish kit on order

After ten years of building, my airplane is finally ready to fly. I spent the last year painting it and putting it together. I just wanted to thank you for a great product and hope to meet you someday. Oh yeah, and if you have any more hats to sell, let me know! My “Todd’s Canopies” hat is one of my favorites! Thanks again!

Todd, here is a picture of the canopy trimmed to fit my RV-8. Notice I bent the roll bar forward 2” to give it a more streamlined appearance. I will send you a photo of the finished product.
Thanks for a great canopy!

Hi Todd, here is a good profile shot of the completed airplane with your canopy on it. As you can see it gives a more streamlined look to the -8 than the factory canopy especially if you bend the roll bar forward a little. Thanks for a great canopy!
